Yay! A new background! Hooray for winter!

Wednesday, December 2, 2009

I am definitely technologically challenged! What is up with changing the background? I have done it before all by myself but today I am trying to put up a Christmas background and I cannot! Hurry and get home Caitlyn mommy needs you! Ha Ha! There are some cute ones too.
Oh well(sigh) on to other things.
It was good to see Lindsay and Nick over thanksgiving break. And Jordan too although I only saw him for about a minute!
Going down to see my mom with my siblings was great! Mom is doing okay.Missouri is very different in December than it is in July! Still worth going for! We did have great weather though, it was about in the 70's.
I am talking to Kristin while I type this! Hi Kristin! She doesn't know that though. Yay, school is almost over for her! Happy Graduation!

You know you love your child when...

This weekend was family weekend down at Morehead State. Doug and I went down to see Jordan and watch the football game. When we got there it wasn't raining to bad. Just a light sprinkle. It was doable to watch a football game in.

We sat there in our little 88 cent Wal-Mart disposable ponchos and were fairly comfortable.
Then came half-time.

It poured! And poured! And poured!

We stayed though for Jordan! We love him!

Apple Picking

Today Caitlyn, Chaela and I went to the Lynd Fruit Farm and picked apples! MMMMMMM...so good! I heard about it from Larissa Zitzman. She recommended the Honeycrisp variety and boy was she right! When Caitlyn took a bite I thought she was going to fall over from the impact of the flavor! We just got a 20 pound bag this time because we weren't sure what we were doing but I think we may go back and get more. Maybe even try a different variety. Chaela had fun but I think she really just wanted to walk around. She kept pointing out the bit of moon that was still visible. This is her eating an apple that is just about bigger than she is!

That farm had so much more than apples! We also got some sweet corn to try out. They had berries and melons and all kinds of things that looked so delicious! We will definitely be going back!

Hey Family!

Hey family its been a long time! We all know whats been going on so I won't go over any of that.
Congratulations Lindsay and Nick! It was a great day! Today your dad and I have been married 26 years, I hope you all make it this far! This day didn't start out to well so its a good thing dad and I went out last night!
While I was watching Chaela for Caitlyn this morning she managed to do some crazy things! Well alright 2 crazy things! First we were outside and she stepped in dog doody! LOL!!! Of course she sat down to get it off with her hands cause it was stuck to her foot! I was on the phone this whole time with Chevaun Craven. Finally she let me rinse her off with the hose. She herself was poopy this whole time too! Then I managed to give her a bath, still on the phone with Chevaun. Unfortunately while I was looking at her thinking how cute she was she slipped and got a goose egg on her forehead.:( Bad grandma! She is okay though, no vomiting or passing out! Whew!
So thats my day,
Love you all!

Missouri Here We Come!

How many more days til we hit the (literally) hottest vacation spot in the whole U S of A? Ten by my count! Although some of you have a little longer. Don't worry there will be plenty of sunshine to go around. I'm not so sure about dock space though or sleeping space! We could have anywhere from 23 to 32 people there from Thursday til Sunday! It's a good thing we like each other!
Right now the boat is not working but that seems to be the way it is every year at this time. It is being worked on and is usually fixed by the time we all get there.
If there is something you particularly like for breakfast or lunch you might want to bring it or just eat what ever is there. Aunt Marydawn is supposed to call me so we can figure out what the menu will be. What I am pretty sure of right now is that Caitlyn and Will are making kabobs one night, probably Thursday. Hamburgers and hotdogs for Saturday, and probably grilled Chicken on Friday. I'm hoping for a Mexican night!
Love you all and see you soon!

Yes I know Mothers Day is over. Thank you all for thinking of me and calling me and for the food Caitlyn and Will cooked. And for the dishes I need to do today! HAHA! Just kidding I told you to leave them and there really is not that many! Lindsay thanks for the new son-in-law I will be getting! And dad thanks for putting in my garden! We will see if my experiment of starting the tomatos and peppers will work! I hope so!
I wanted to let you all know I am glad to be your mother and part of this family
Thanks!

Flowers

I love the new picture Caitlyn posted on our header! I know I complain a lot about all the thousands and thousands of bulbs your dad plants but then spring comes and this is what we get . I will try not to complain so much. There are also a lot of purple flowers too I like them the best!

It has been great the last couple of days, Caitlyn and I have been able to get out and take Chaela outside too! She loves to dig in the dirt, in fact she was trying to dig up the tomatos I have tried to start in the house. I took them out to get some sun and she found them!

Also I got to go for a long walk yesterday. It was so nice to stretch my legs after what seems like and amazingly (and not in a good way) long and cold winter.

Sunday we had a special meeting at church with Elder Russell M. Nelson. Basically it was on how everything I need to know to get back to Heavenly Father I learned in Primary!
He would talk about something like the temple and then he had the primary children in the whole congregation stand and sing a primary song that had to do with what he just talked about!
The songs that the children sang were: I am a child of God, I love to see the temple, I'm trying to be like Jesus, Families can be together forever, and Follow the Prophet!
The other talks were good too, they were on things like peace and prayer and not giving up. It was so cool to be in the same room as an apostle of the Lord! (well sort of, we were sitting up on the stage at the very back but it was still cool!)

So... how about this blog?

I was blog surfing tonight and I found our blog! Yay for family blog! So Caitlyn, I totally realized though that I have no idea how to handle the finer points of blogging. Someday I will call you and we can review that, even though you're probably still up and I could call you. Anyway, I really like this blog background! I miss you guys!

Hey Caitlyn, if Kristin is going to brag about her blog I think we need to put a link here if we can so we can keep up with her. Go Kristin! Blog away!
